John S. Kennedy, B.A. (Dist.), LL.B., LL.M. (Hon.)
John Kennedy practices exclusively in the areas of civil and commercial litigation, with a heavy emphasis on both construction and personal injury law. He has appeared before courts in Alberta and British Columbia, as well as numerous regulatory tribunals.
Education
- John received a Bachelor of Arts Degree, with Distinction, from the University of Regina followed by a Law Degree from the University of Saskatchewan, awarded in 1982. After taking one year off to travel, John articled in Edmonton, Alberta and was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1984.
- In 1986 John decided to pursue further legal education and obtained a Master of Law Degree with Honours, from the Victoria University of Wellington, in Wellington, New Zealand.
Career and Interests
- After receiving the Masters Degree, John returned to the private practice of law in Edmonton, eventually relocating to Kelowna where he was admitted to the British Columbia Bar in 1998.
- John has been asked to assist with educational programs at both the College and University level, and has been a guest speaker on medical/legal issues at physician conferences.
- John has been active in the community, having served on the Board of several charitable organizations. He is currently both a soccer coach and a past President of the Kelowna United Select Soccer club.
