Pursuing Compensation In Personal Injury

Pursuing Compensation In Personal Injury

One person is dead and two injured in a bus accident in downtown Vancouver last month. Under British Columbia personal injury law, those injured can pursue compensation. That is also true for the family of the 49-year-old man who died as a result of the accident that saw a charter bus jumping a curb and hitting several pedestrians.

A Vancouver police spokesperson said the slow-moving bus collided with an SUV parked alongside the curb. It hit several nearby pedestrians. An elderly man is in serious condition, and a teenage girl, 15, suffered minor injuries. A witness said he saw fire and rescue teams pull three people from underneath the bus. Police say the bus driver could face charges depending upon the outcome of the investigation, which includes speaking to witnesses.

Working With A Personal Injury Lawyer

Those involved in these kinds of incidents could suffer serious injuries or even lose their lives as in the case of one of the men in this accident. Enlisting the help of a lawyer experienced in personal injury law is a prudent first step for anyone suffering injuries as a result of a vehicle accident. A lawyer will guide victims on how to pursue compensation.

British Columbia personal injury law makes allowances for those injured to seek that compensation. Injured parties need time to heal, and a lawyer will remove some of the stress in that process by taking the necessary steps to ensure a positive outcome in the pursuit of compensation — carrying out tasks such as valuating compensation, gathering evidence to present, collecting the opinions of experts and liaising with the insurer. Residents filing claims have other matters to contend with such as their health, work and family issues. Working with a compassionate lawyer will remove some of the stress connected to financial matters.
